7 Weeks Pregnant – Growing Family

7 Weeks Pregnant – Growing Family

Another beautiful mum shares her Made With Love Pregnancy Journal entries at 6 and 7 weeks pregnant. This is baby number two, and she is navigating early symptoms, exhaustion, and the emotional adjustment of soon having two little ones under two.

If you’re in the early weeks of pregnancy and feeling tired, overwhelmed, excited or unsure all at once — you’re not alone.

6 Weeks Pregnant

Baby is the size of a: Blueberry
Cravings: NIL
Symptoms: Morning sickness

I’ve been feeling I’m getting morning sickness this time round which is not fun, and I’m noticing even after a good sleep I’m still very tired.

This week I talked to some good friends who are also parents. It’s been nice sharing our fears and excitement.

Advice I’ve been given: That it’s only going to get harder from here (not very helpful).

What I’m doing to relax: Looking back at old photos of my last pregnancy and Georgia as a newborn. Remembering that time brings a lot of peace.

I’m most excited about: I’m still adjusting to the idea of baby #2 so nothing yet.

I’m most nervous about: What being a mum of 2 under 2 is going to be like and how I will cope.

How I’m going with diet, exercise, sleep, stress and other health goals: I could always make improvements but I’m okay with my imperfections.

If I could say anything to my baby right now it would be:

Dear baby, I want you to know you are so loved. When I think about you my breath is still a little taken away. It’s crazy to think in 34 short weeks I could be holding you in my arms, smelling your sweet smell and hearing your little sounds.

I hope for you great things, you can be anything you dream of so dream big baby.

Lots of love,
XO mummy

7 Weeks Pregnant

Baby is the size of a: Raspberry
Symptoms: Less morning sickness, but I’m bloated and have reflux

I’ve been feeling more positive about being pregnant. I’ve been anxious waiting for a scan so I’ve been doing home pregnancy tests to make it real.

My partner has been away at work, but he is very excited about baby #2.

I can’t wait to be able to: Have my dating scan. It’s booked in 2 weeks time.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the dynamic of my growing family and what that is going to look like.

The best thing about the last week has been: Knowing that I’m growing a baby and not many other people knowing.

Changes I’ve noticed in my body, energy or mood: In my tummy and I’m low in energy. A coffee infusion would be great!

When I think about the kind of parents we’ll be, I’d like: For us to always let our kids be who they are and to nurture their individual interests.

Three Additional Reflections

What has surprised you most this pregnancy?

How quickly the emotions returned. Even though I’ve done this before, the tiredness, the hormones, and the thoughts about how life is about to change again have hit me just as strongly.

What are you doing differently this time?

I’m trying to be kinder to myself. I know what the newborn stage is like now, so I’m soaking up the quiet moments with my first baby and letting the house be messy sometimes.

What is your biggest hope right now?

That I can balance loving both my babies fully and that our little family finds its rhythm. I hope they grow up close.

Be Gentle With Yourself

Early pregnancy can feel long and uncertain. Waiting for scans, navigating symptoms, adjusting to the idea of another baby — it’s a lot.

If you’re feeling anxious before your dating scan, that is completely normal. Many mums describe those first weeks as the most emotionally fragile.

If pregnancy is bringing up unexpected emotions, you might also find comfort in reading:

Different season, same reminder: you are not failing — you are adjusting.
